We may just be a fashion and beauty blog, superficial to most, especially with all the horrible things in our world, but we would like to urge every one of our readers to please help Haiti. Everyone in Haiti needs our help right now, so let’s do what we can. Read the rest of this entry…
We’re not really into bubble hems anymore. We loved them in ‘06, but then quickly tired of them when it became too played out. But we think Zoe Saldana pulled off the ethnic print Giambattista Valli bubble dress beautifully. She’s rocking the fun silhouette. Her green and black platforms complement her dress perfectly, and best of all, they fun!
“I travel a lot, so having an eyemask is vital, and as always, I believe that you can add glamour to any useful item! This one is going to be a collector’s item for sure! I love mine!” – Dita Von Teese
Dita Von Teese collaborated with Moschino to design an eyemask to benefit the amfAR charity. Thirty precent of the proceeds will go towards amfAR, which is one of the world’s leading nonprofit organization dedicated to support AIDS research, HIV prevention, treatment education, and the advocacy of AIDS-related public policy.
The limited edition pink silk-satin eyemask is embellished with rhinestones that inscribe “Dita for Moschino. The eyemask also has a spotted lace overlay with trompe l’oeil eyelash detailing and comes with a cute matching case. The eyemask is available now at Moschino for $130.
This week’s challenge was a tough one for the remaining 13 contestants. It wasn’t the mandatory use of red or the incorporation of the Campbell logo that the designers found difficult, it was designing for real women instead of models that threw the designers for a tailspin. For the most part, we think that the designers failed to live up to the challenge. But if you had to choose one that was the best of the bunch, which would you choose?
Call me naïve, but I never knew that celebrities got paid to sit front row at a fashion show. I thought it was pretty much a mutualistic symbiotic relationship. The designer and the celebrities both get publicity for the celebrities’s attendance. The celebrities get free clothes from the designers. The celebrities get photographed in said clothes and the designer gets more coverage. That’s what I thought went on. But no, it turns out there’s more to the equation. Celebrities actually get paid to attend a fashion show. But now that I think about it, it makes sense. As the saying goes, time is money. Celebrities get paid to attend events and clubs, some even gets paid to twitter. So why not get paid to sit fashionably in the front row? What a life, right? Celebs get their hair and makeup done, get free clothes, swag, sometimes they even get airfare, and on top of all that they get a paycheck. The perks just keep rolling in. Sigh, I wish someone would pay me to sit front row at a major fashion show, actually they wouldn’t have to pay me at all, I would glady attend for free and stand in the back. Color me envious.

When Jennifer Hudson walked the 2010 Grammy red carpet in a black peplum dress, we instantly recognized it as the same dress Blake Lively recently wore. Who do you think pulled off the Victoria Beckham designed dress better?
