This Black Halo Cutout dress is gorgeous and all over the red carpet and small screens. It was on Gossip Girl and How I Met Your Mother. Stars such as Jenny McCarthy, Jamie Lynn Sigler, and Audrina from the Hills have worn it on the red carpet. It’s a fantastic dress and will make an excellent one for the holidays as well. You’ll definitely stand out.
Esteban Cortazar, for emanuel Ungaro, and Sharon Dowsett, celebrity makeup artist, teamed up with M.A.C. to put out a special collection that was inspired by the Ungaro Autumn/Winter 2008 show in Paris. When creating the look for Ungaro, Dowsett was guided by Monet’s Water Lilies, using muted and soft colors such as browns, pinks, and corals. The look is suppose to evoke a dreamy, feminine, and reverential. And I would have to say that they did just that. The look is totally softly impressionistic, very Monet. The collection includes a lipstick, lipglass, see thru lip color, eyeshadow, cream color base, beauty powder, liner, brow set, and mascara.
Being a student, I often pull all nighters. I’m sorry to say that that does happen quite often for me, since I am a procrastinator. So when it happens that I don’t get all my hours of beauty sleep, I pull out Bobbi Brown’s Creamy Concealer Kit. It works wonders. My eyes are suddenly bright and no one can that I haven’t slept for what seems to be days. The concealer is yellow-based, so it instantly camouflages dark circles. Another aspect that I love is the packaging. The creamy concealer sits on the top and the loose powder is on the bottom. So you have everything you need all in one nifty package, concealer to conceal and powder to set. Bobbi Brown offers 12 different shades, so it wouldn’t be hard to find your match. The concealer also contains vitamin A to minimize the look of fine dry lines and wrinkles as well as vitamin E to moisturize and protect. You can also view an instructional video on Bobbi Brown’s site on how to properly apply concealer. For $32, you can’t go wrong. Trust me, I introduced this to one of my many cousins a few years ago and she still swears by it to this very day.
In years past, Kate Moss’s collections for Topshop have sold out instantly. And it looks like history is going to repeat itself once more this year with Kate’s Christmas ’08 collection. You’ll find a variety of styles and trends. There are sequin numbers befitting a holiday collection. Other items are flirty, girlie, and rocker chic. There are some pieces that I am currently lusting after at the moment. I so wish there was a Topshop here is southern California. But at least you can still buy it online. However, if you want something from this line, you better move fast, they sell like hot cakes!
Here are just a few pieces from the collection, to view the entire collection, visit Topshop.com or a Topshop near you!
An interesting note: Kate Moss was seen wearing the panther dress around Fashion Week a few weeks earlier.
It’s that time of year again! Where ghost, goblins, and ghouls roam about begging for candy. And I am so excited. I absolutely love Halloween! And yes, I do dress up every year. So My question is, are you dressing up this year? And if so, what as?
The other day Nicole Richie was seen driving around L.A. Nothing unusual about that right? I mean she is photographed throughout L.A. and various other cities everyday. Well, if you notice she is sporting a ring that she designed for her own line, House of Harlow 1960. The collection consist mostly of bangles and rings. The designs have an art deco-y as well as an Egyptian feel. And the best part of the collection is how affordable it is. Most items are for sale for less than $70, except for one piece which is $125. It’s very intriguing, next time I’m at Kitson, I’ll definitely check it out. Available at Kitson and online.
Here are the latest ads for Alexander McQueen. Photographer Craig McDean beautifully shot model, Alice Gibb, for the campaign. I love the contrast between Alice’s hair color and skin against the dark, dreary background. So gothic. So fierce.
Emma Watson, 18, who stars as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter franchise graces the inside of Vogue Italia’s November issue. I love the concept of the shoot, it feels very romantic and opulent. Emma is certainly coming into her own fashion wise. She was spotted all over fashion week.
Hedi Klum is the latest celebrity to grace the ad for the Got Milk? campaign. Love the Halloween theme. And it’s so fitting, since the Klum-Samuels clan love to dress up in costumes and they definitely go all out for Halloween.
Hearst is closing the door on CosmoGirl. The December issue will ultimately be the last. However, on a bright note, the website will keep running. Those with subscriptions will start receiving issues of Seventeen. The magazine industry is greatly suffering in terms of ad sales and CosmoGirl fared the worst. Because of sluggish ad sales, this may just be the first in a series of once popular magazines to close this year.
RIP CosmoGirl 1999-2008, you had a good run, we’ll miss you.
Spotted: Gossip Girl’s Nicole Fiscella and singer Leona Lewis wearing the same Herve Leger’s berry colored bandage dress. Leona created an off the shoulders effect with her dress while Nicole opted to leave the double straps up. So who rocked it better?
