Mischa Barton and Ivanka Trump both wore gorgeous navy asymmetrical dresses recently. The actress wore the Albert Ferretti gown on the red carpet at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival in May. She paired it with a diamond necklace and a black clutch. Meanwhile, the real estate mogul wore the gown to the New York Library Lions gala in New York. Ivanka opted to go bare neck, but kept her diamonds on her ears and wrist instead. She added even more bling with a jeweled clutch. So which one do you prefer?Bill Blass New York Closing - WWD

noneThe Michael Kors 09 Cruise campaign isn’t anything groundbreaking. The concept has been done before. But you know it’s still eye candy. And the the yummy male model , Noah Mills, isn’t bad to look at. The campaign features Carmen Kass in a colorful assortment of Kors’s dresses, swimsuits, tunics. And on top of that are Kors’s handbangs and accessories. Looking at these ads make me yearn for summer.

Rogan Gregory and Target are teaming up for the second time. Rogan first collaborated with Target for the Go International collection. This time though, he will create a stand-alone collection for the retailer, based on his Loomstate line. Launched in 2004, with Scott MacKinlay, Loomstate is an eco-friendly line. The Loomstate for Target collection will offer environmentally friendly fashion for both men and women. The collection will use environmentally sensitive materials like 100 percent certified organic cotton and sustainable fibers like silk and linen. Priced between $15 – $45, the collection will hit Target stores on April 19, one day before Earth Day.
This just proves that green fashion is here to stay. And who doesn’t like helping out the environment and being fashionable at the same time. It’s just win win. I can’t wait to check out the collection.

Gabrielle Union attended the premiere of her new movie, Cadillac Records, looking fab in a Grecian inspired asymmetrical dress. First off, I love the color. I’m in a navy phase myself, but this color is perfect for the fall/winter season. She kept her accessories simple, which is always wise in my book. Her hair and makeup is fierce. Cadillac Records also stars Adrien Brody and Beyonce Knowles. The film opens on December 5.
Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson attended the 2008 Bambi Awards in her native Germany on Thursday. She wore a white one shoulder dress. Her look was very classic. I’ve always like Diane Kruger’s style. And of course, her best accessory of the night was boyfriend, Joshua Jackson.
Salma Hayek appeared on stage at the CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute on Saturday night looking muy caliente in a plunging blue dress. Like Gabrielle and Diane, Salma kept her accessories simple.
Well Thanksgiving had come and gone. I don’t know about you, but I am stuffed to the brim. If you did any cooking yesterday, you might have some leftovers lying about. So instead of watching them go bad or racking your brain to try to come up with what to do with the ingredients, you could concoct beauty treatments instead. Yes, you heard that right, there are numerous beauty treatments in the guise of everyday ingredients, including Thanksgiving leftovers. So get ready to indulge once more – this time in the form of pampering instead of the gastronomical feast yesterday.
Cranberry Lipgloss:
- Combined 10 fresh cranberries, 1 tsp. of honey, 1 drop of vitamin E oil, and 1 tbsp. of almond oil or any nut/seed oil.
- Microwaved to a boil.
- Stir and crush the cranberries.
- Let cool for 5 minutes, stir again, pour into a lipgloss container and let cool completely.
Thanksgiving-inspired Body Scrub
- Heat 1 oz. of sunflower oil, 1 oz. of jojoba oil, and 2 oz. of apricot-kernel oil in a saucepan.
- Turn off heat and add in 1 oz. of cornmeal, 1 tsp. of sugar, 1 tbsp. of ground pecans, and 6 drops of lavender oil. Stir.
- Cool. When the concoction is cool enough for you skin, either stand in a bath tub or on a large towel and gently rub the mixture onto your body in a circular motion. Avoid the face.
- Rinse off in a warm shower. But don’t use any soap in order to allow the oils to moisture the skin. Rinse off with cool water before getting out of the shower.
Pumpkin Exfoliating Mask
- Combine 3 tbsp. of cooked pumpkin, 1/4 tsp. of milk, and 1/2 tsp. of honey.
- Put combined ingredients onto face and leave it for 15 minutes
- Rinse off with lukewarm water
Potatoes Slices for Tired Eyes
- Cut raw slices of potatoes – sweet or regular
- Place slices on eyes for 15 minutes to diminish dark circles
Red Wine Bath
- Pour some red win into the tub
- Soak in the red wine-infused bath for at least 20 minutes to rejuvenate cells.
Everyone knows that they should keep their hands to themselves. And every beauty maven knows that she should keep her hands off of her face. But just in case you need another reason to stop touching your face, the University of Colorado at Boulder has just given you one. According to researchers, our hands contain more than 150 types of bacteria! Another noteworthy find to come out of the study is that women harbor more bacteria than men. Although, the study didn’t state why this is the case. So remember, ladies, wash your hands regularly with soap and water. Scrub hard and long – long enough to sing yourself Happy Birthday. And remember, ALWAYS wash your hand before touching your face.
Hayden Panettiere has teamed up with Dooney & Bourke designer to create a clutch for the Spring 09 collection. Aptly named after the starlet, the Hayden Clutch, is set to hit stores in December and will retail for $295. The clutch will come in a variety of colors – blue, red, black, purple, hot pink, white, and brown. There’s also leather pipping throughout the design in a contrasting color. The bag is made from Italian calfskin and is fastened with a 24 carat gold plated lion head, representing her astrological sign.
This isn’t the Heroes star first foray into designing handbags. For the Fall 08 collection, Hayden created the Hayden Bag, a large patent number.
To be honest, I was surprised that Hayden designed a bag made from calfskin considering she’s suppose to be all for animal rights. Remember the whole dolphins and whales protest thing in Japan? So I thought that if she would design something, she would go the Natalie Portman route and do something vegan.
Kimberly Stewart heads out for a night on the town in London in the very same D&G red and black plaid dress that Taylor Momsen wears as Jenny Humphrey on Gossip Girl. They’re pretty much rocking the dress in the same fashion – black tights, black shoes. The only difference is that Kimberly added a belt to the dress. So who rocked it better or is it too close to call?
Have a happy and festive Thanksgiving! And now I’m off to do some cooking and enjoy a whole lotta food! Yum!
