Here’s the latest ads for Prada.  For the 2009 Resort campaign, the ad features Dutch model, Ymre Stiekema and was shot by photographer Steven Meisel.  Ymre is holding three different embellished bags and is wearing a black zip jacket.  I’m not liking this ad.  I don’t know, maybe it’s because I don’t like the bags.  But then I look at Ymre, and while she’s a beautiful model with strong striking features, she’s looking kind of plastic here.

I already brought you the pictures from the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, so now it’s time for the makeup breakdown.  The theme for the 2008 show was “Return to Glamour.”  And they certainly achieved it, all the models looked sexy and glamorous.  Charlotte Tilbury, lead makeup artist for the show said that the overall look is a “doe-eyed Bambi.  It is a little bit dreamy; like a chic silhouette.  There is an innocence to it.”  

To help achieve the look, products from Victoria’s Secret Very Sexy Makeup line was employed.  When looking backstage one can always find products that aren’t from Victoria’s Secret, but of course, they wouldn’t release the names of non-Victoria’s Secret products.  But I digress, so anyways…the models eyes were done up in some of my favorite glamourous neutral colors of shimmery golds and browns.  Silky Eyeshadow in Chills, Mystified, Behind the Sheets, and Champagne were used.  Eyes were lined with Eyeliner in Dark Chocolate.  To create envious, luscious lashes use High Definition Mascara in Blackest Black on both the top and bottom lashes.    

Cheekbones were sculpted with the help of Mosaic Bronzer in Goddess, Mosaic Blush in Love Life, and Heidi Klum Collection Blush in Jewels.  

For playful, plump lips Perfect Lipstick in Whisper, a peachy color, was used.  Then Lip Gloss in Intimate, a pale pink gloss, went on top of the previous color.  And to complete the sexy pout, a nude brown color (Heidi Klum Collection Lip Gloss in Cupcake) was added.

And to create a bronzed glow befitting of the Miami locale where the show took place, Victoria’s Secret Bare Bronze Collection was utilized all over.

It looks like the cult favorite, Nars Orgasm, has some competition in the new kid on the block, Super Orgasm.  Everyone knows Nars’s Orgasm, it’s the blush that every beauty guru has in her makeup bag, the one that beauty editors have proclaim as universally flattering shade.  A shade that brings out a sexy flush to your cheeks (and not just from the name) mimicking a boom-chicka-wah-wah glow.  With Super Orgasm, Nars turned the classic, best-selling blush up a notch.  

Now, like the original Orgasm, the Super Orgasm is described as a shimmery peach pink blush with golden fleck of glitter.  Both blushes, like all other blushes from Nars, has a silky texture and color that is able to last all day long.  But Nars didn’t just create an identical blush to Orgasm and just slapped on the Super in front, there are significant differences between the two.  Super Orgasm is a more amped up version of the it’s predecessor. 

Compare to the original, Super Orgasm is more rich and pigmented.  The color is darker and has more of a red tone to it than Orgasm.  So for those people out there that found that the Orgasm color just didn’t do anything for you, give Super Orgasm a try.  

But there is one major flaw with Super Orgasm in my opinion and it’s name is glitter.  The glitter in Super Orgasm just doesn’t work for me.  It’s big, chunky, and unevenly shaped.  It’s just not flattering, unless you want that disco ball look.  Because of the glitter and the intensity of the pigmentation, you can’t use a heavy hand when applying this blush.

Super Orgasm does have it’s saving grace though.  It looks spectacular in pictures.  Even though in person, the glitter might appear obvious, it’s certainly not the case when photographed.  Cheeks appear dewey and not disco ball like at all, which is great.

Bottom line: I think I’ll be sticking to Nars Orgasm for now.  Super Orgasm is great for accenting the cheeks, so I’ll probably use in every once in awhile, especially when I know I’ll be in front of the camera.  But I’ll just use it as an accent and swirl some on the apples of my cheeks for the soft dewy appearance.
