Have you heard? The FDA has just approved Latisse. From the maker of Botox, Latisse is an eyelash thickening agent that is meant for people suffering from hypotrichosis of the eyelashes – people who have too few lashes or none at all.
But before you get all happy and start daydreaming about long luscious lashes, you might want to hear the side effects – eye redness, itchy eyes, potentially permanent darkening of the iris, and itchy eyes. The active ingredient in Latisse is bimatroprost, which is the ingredient used in glaucoma treatments. Latisse probably works, since I know that as a side effect of glaucoma treatments, many patients “suffer” from extra long lashes. You know, even though it works, I don’t think that I’ll be trying it just yet, for now I’ll stick with mascara, false lashes, or even extensions. But if you have hypotrichosis of the eyelashes, it might be worth it.

Anne Hathaway is beaming with a wide smile on the cover of Vogue’s January 09 issue. She looks great in the issue, but then again I’ve been partial to her ever since The Princess Diaries. Inside the magazine, she opens up about her ex:
“I was a 21-year-old kid when I met him. It wasn’t a huge, dramatic breakup. We were in the process of winding it down when he was arrested. I don’t talk about this, except when I’m asked. It’s not a part of my life anymore. It’s a complicated situation that has the ability to define me in ways I am not comfortable with.”
Catch Anne’s next movie, Bride Wars, co-starring Kate Hudson, in January.

The Hayden-Harnett for Target collection hit stores today, December 28. The Brooklyn-based accessories designers teamed up with the discount retailer to put fourth a collection of purses and an umbrella. The purses mostly typical neutrals of blacks and browns, but there’s a print thrown in here and there. Hayden-Harnett’s signature tough style is still prevalent as it is apparent with the brass hardwares, chains, and grommets.
