Jessica Alba attended a party in LA wearing a Juicy Couture plaid jacket, white turtleneck, and flared jeans. While some see it as reminiscent of the 70s, I see her as channeling Betty Suarez of Ugly Betty. What do you think, fab or drab?
Kate Winslet stole the show at the LA premier of Revolutionary Road dressed in a Balmain shirred minidress. The crystal-studded accent saved the dress from being a simple strapless LBD. Christian Louboutins and Fred Leighton jewelry never hurt an outfit also. Hair and makeup was perfect. The double Golden Globe nominee was looking fabulous.
Zooey Deschanel is one of my favorite actress. She’s so cute and quirky. At the Yes Man LA premiere dressed in a silver Erin Fetherston dress with sparkly tights, Zooey evoked a whimsical snowflake feel, which is totally apropos with the cold front we’re having here. On an interesting note, on The Tonight Show, Zooey revealed that she laughed so hard during the premiere that she spilt the corset top part of the dress – that just makes her so much more endearing.
Supermodel, Kate Moss, and affordable British retailer, Topshop, are extending their relationship. So for the next three years we can expect to see more Kate Moss for Topshop collections. Moreover, in addition to future collections there will be the addition of shoes and lingerie, which is always a good addition to any line. I certainly can’t wait to see what Kate has to offer next…
Leighton Meester, one of my favorite Gossip Girl cast member, scores the February cover for Teen Vogue. Here are a few tidbits she shared:
On her character, Blair Waldorf: “I loved the character and the script,” says Leighton, “I just understood Blair – she’s seemingly flawless but has the same problems and the same issues as anybody else has at that age. I feel like that’s why people find her so intriguing.”
On costar Ed Westwick: “He’s my favorite actor to work with. We have really good chemistry.”
On headbands, Blair’s trademark: ”I don’t wear headbands, ever.”
On her parents’ highly publicized prison past: “I wouldn’t have volunteered that information, but I’ve never kept it a secret either. It’s just not my past; it’s not my story to tell.”
On her childhood: “I wasn’t born in jail; I was born in a hospital. I lived with my mother for a few months in a halfway house, and then I went to stay with my grandmother for a few more before my mom got out. But I had a normal life.”
On her debut album she hopes to release this spring: “The music is very fun. It’s edgy, like electropop rather than bubblegum and you can dance to it.”
