In a quest for total fashion world domination, the Olsen twins have launched an affordable junior line, Olsenboye for JCPenney. The twins already have a high end line, The Row, available at Bergdorfs and a sportswear line, Elizabeth and James, that is a little more affordable than The Row, but is still expensive. In addition, they have a shoe and jewelry line and most recently they just added sunglasses. See what I mean? Fashion world domination indeed! This isn’t the first time Mary-Kate and Ashley attached their names to an affordable juniors line – they did have a line with Walmart back in the day.
The Olsenboye line will be reasonably priced from $20 t0 $50, and will include denim, bottoms, tops, dresses, skirts, shorts, jackets, handbags, and shoes. The line takes its inspiration from various teen trends around the world. Each collection will highlight a different city. The line will officially launch in 600 JCPenney stores nationwide in February 2010. A preview collection will be available at 50 JCPenny stores, including the Manhattan flagship store, and jcp.com for a limited time starting on November 6, 2009.
Starting today the brand will engage in a three day marketing campaign with the “Olsenboye Treat Truck.” The truck will be cruising around NYC handing out cupcakes, balloons, and pins. You can also catch a preview as well as purchase the collection from the treat truck. Check out the treat truck schedule below.
Fun Fact: Olsenboye is Mary-Kate and Ashley’s ancestral name.
