Remembering Elizabeth Taylor (1932-2011)

Hollywood legend Elizabeth Taylor passed away today at Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles after being hospitalized for weeks due to congestive heart failure. The three time Oscar winner – she won Best Actress for Butterfield 8 and Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and got an Oscar for her humanitarian work – was 79. Taylor was a child actress that made the transition into a screen siren. She was also known for her many marriages – she was married eight times to seven husbands – as well as her jewelry collection. Moreover, Taylor was a fragrance creator and an fashion icon. She was one of the earliest AIDS advocate. In her passing, the actress ask that people donate to the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation in lieu of flowers.

The collection will help Estee Lauder in donating $500,000 to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The Breast Cancer Research Foundation funds clinical and translational research in North America in order to find a prevention and cure for breast cancer.
