I don’t know about you, but I am stuffed to the brim. If you did any cooking yesterday, you might have some leftovers lying about. So instead of watching them go bad or racking your brain to try to come up with what to do with the ingredients, you could concoct beauty treatments instead. Yes, you heard that right, there are numerous beauty treatments in the guise of everyday ingredients, including Thanksgiving leftovers. So get ready to indulge once more – this time in the form of pampering instead of the gastronomical feast yesterday.

Cranberry Lipgloss:
- Combined 10 fresh cranberries, 1 tsp. of honey, 1 drop of vitamin E oil, and 1 tbsp. of almond oil or any nut/seed oil.
- Microwaved to a boil.
- Stir and crush the cranberries.
- Let cool for 5 minutes, stir again, pour into a lipgloss container and let cool completely.

Thanksgiving-inspired Body Scrub
- Heat 1 oz. of sunflower oil, 1 oz. of jojoba oil, and 2 oz. of apricot-kernel oil in a saucepan.
- Turn off heat and add in 1 oz. of cornmeal, 1 tsp. of sugar, 1 tbsp. of ground pecans, and 6 drops of lavender oil. Stir.
- Cool. When the concoction is cool enough for you skin, either stand in a bath tub or on a large towel and gently rub the mixture onto your body in a circular motion. Avoid the face.
- Rinse off in a warm shower. But don’t use any soap in order to allow the oils to moisture the skin. Rinse off with cool water before getting out of the shower.

Pumpkin Exfoliating Mask
- Combine 3 tbsp. of cooked pumpkin, 1/4 tsp. of milk, and 1/2 tsp. of honey.
- Put combined ingredients onto face and leave it for 15 minutes
- Rinse off with lukewarm water

Potatoes Slices for Tired Eyes
- Cut raw slices of potatoes – sweet or regular
- Place slices on eyes for 15 minutes to diminish dark circles

Red Wine Bath
- Pour some red win into the tub
- Soak in the red wine-infused bath for at least 20 minutes to rejuvenate cells.

There are a few variations to this simple recipe: some use regular oil instead of evoo, others use substitute salt, sea salt, or baking soda for sugar. You can certainly try different combinations to see which one works best for you. One caveat though, I don’t recommend using baking soda that so many recipes call for, since it’s way harsh for the skin.

Use for face and/or body. Okay for every skin condition. Give this a try and you’ll might ditch your favorite expensive exfoliator permanently – which might not be a bad thing in the state of this economy.
